We called upon our talented bartenders from across the Soho House family to rise to the challenge. Their mission? To create a standout cocktail using any or all of the three exquisite Ojo de Dios Mezcals we serve in our houses: Original, Café, or Hibiscus. These spirited concoctions were judged on taste, appearance, creativity, and brand knowledge.
The competition reached its peak in the elegant surroundings of Kettner’s Champagne Room. Each participant had just five minutes to craft their cocktail and present it to our discerning panel of judges, narrating the story and inspiration behind their creation. It was a test of skill, speed, and showmanship!
Creativity lies at the heart of Soho House’s philosophy, and this competition was a true testament to that spirit. We encourage our teams to flex their creative muscles, and they certainly did not disappoint. From bold flavor combinations to stunning presentations, the bartenders showcased an incredible array of talents. The event was a vibrant celebration of innovation, passion, and, of course, mezcal.
The competition was fierce, but the camaraderie and enthusiasm among the bartenders made it a memorable experience for all. Highlights included a mezcal cocktail infused with exotic spices and a beautifully garnished hibiscus mezcal creation that wowed the judges with its elegance.
In the end, one talented mixologist emerged victorious, earning the coveted trip to Oaxaca. Their journey was filled with immersive experiences: learning from master distillers, exploring agave fields, and enjoying the vibrant culture and nightlife of Oaxaca. It was a well-deserved reward for their exceptional creativity and skill.
At Soho House, we believe in fostering talent and encouraging our teams to push the boundaries of creativity.
