 The role…

Financial Controller is responsible for all financial accounting including monthly returns, statutory accounting and reporting, tax, cash control, purchase ledger and balance sheets of Soho Beach House Canouan reporting to the General Manager and Finance Director for North America with a dotted line to the ownership group.

Main Duties…

  • Monthly Management Accounts and analysis of all expenditure for the Board and UK parent company in accordance with UK General Accounting Principles and Soho House Group polices.
  • Business partnering with senior management to review the financial performance of the business daily.
  • Developing accounting processes, ensuring a strong control environment exists
  • Manage receipts and payments and reporting and forecasting of cash flow.
  • Weekly Profit & Loss preparation and circulation to all Head of Departments
  • Preparation of annual budgets and regular forecasts for both internal senior management team and the Executive Directors of the UK parent
  • Liaising with the US company auditors
  • Financial Monitoring of Capital Expenditure Projects

Required Skills/Qualifications…

  • 6+ years’ experience in managerial accounting and financial management in a Hotel/Restaurant or Members Club environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or Business required. CPA and/or CMA preferred. 
  • Working knowledge of financial and data base systems, preferably Adaco, Sage, Micros, ADP, and Opera.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP, financial and legal principles and practices.
  • Excellent time management, planning, communication, decision-making, and presentation skills.
  • Proven problem-solving capabilities.
  • Advanced Excel skills associated with large volumes of data, data management and reporting.
