The Role:

The Director of Food and Beverage at Soho Beach House Canouan is responsible for overseeing all food and beverage operations across our properties. This includes developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure exceptional guest experiences, maintaining high standards of quality and service, and driving profitability. The Director of F&B will lead a team of managers, and service staff, fostering a collaborative and innovative environment.

Main Duties:

  • Strategic Planning: Develop and execute the F&B strategy in alignment with Soho House’s overall goals, focusing on delivering exceptional culinary and beverage experiences.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily F&B operations to ensure efficient and high-quality service. Monitor and manage F&B outlets, including restaurants, bars, room service, and events.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with culinary teams to design and update menus that reflect seasonal ingredients, local flavours, and current culinary trends.
  • Quality Control: Maintain the highest standards of food and beverage quality, presentation, and service. Conduct regular evaluations and implement improvements as needed.
  • Budget and Financial Management: Develop and manage F&B budgets, monitor financial performance, and implement cost-control measures to maximize profitability.
  • Staff Leadership and Development: Recruit, train, and mentor F&B staff, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Conduct regular performance reviews and provide opportunities for professional growth.
  • Guest Experience: Ensure a seamless and memorable F&B experience for all guests. Address guest feedback and implement service enhancements.
  • Health and Safety Compliance: Ensure all F&B operations comply with health and safety regulations. Partner with Health & Safety leaders to maintain a safe and inviting environment.
  • Sustainability Initiatives: Promote and implement sustainable practices within the F&B operations, including waste reduction, energy efficiency, and responsible sourcing.

Required Skills/Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in managing high-volume F&B operations within luxury hotels or upscale restaurants. Caribbean and remote location experience preferred.
  • Education: Degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, or a related field.
  • Leadership Skills: Strong leadership abilities with a proven track record of managing and developing large teams.
  • Financial Acumen: Excellent financial management skills, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control.
  • Creativity: Ability to develop innovative menus and beverage programs that enhance the guest experience.
  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with guests, staff, and stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: High standards of quality and a keen eye for detail in all aspects of F&B operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry heavy objects.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
