Babington House...

Situated in a Grade II-listed manor built in 1705, Babington House is surrounded by 18 acres of English countryside in the heart of Somerset. Just 30 minutes from Bath, it’s the ultimate countryside escape for rest, relaxation and seasonal dining. With 33 bedrooms spread across Babington’s historic buildings, Cabins and Lodges, the club features a formal dining space in the Orangery, serving a unique menu centred around seasonal and local produce. There’s also a cricket pitch and tennis courts, indoor and outdoor swimming pool, a gym and original Cowshed Spa.


The Role… 

We are seeking an experienced Kitchen Porter to join our team at Babington House (BA11 3RW). As a Kitchen Porter, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Your responsibilities will include washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, as well as assisting with basic food preparation tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, excellent communication skills, and a keen eye for cleanliness.


What we are looking for in a Kitchen Porter...

  • 1-2 years’ experience in a busy high-profile restaurant (preferred but not essential)
  • Team player who communicates well with all colleagues
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy
  • Sense of urgency
  • Yes, yes, yes mentality
  • Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Have a genuine passion for food and beverage
  • Flexible and available to working both opening and closing shifts when required

Expected working hours for a Kitchen Porter:

  • Varying shift times across the seven days, to include working evenings, weekends, opens & closes 
  • Average hours 32-45 hours per week 

Travel: Approx. 30 minutes from Bath, 50 minutes from Bristol & 10 mins from Frome (No local transport from Frome)
