The role…

At Soho House an Area AV/IT Manager is an New York based, client focused, results driven Audio Visual and IT Manager with responsibilities for our Soho House New York operations. You will ensure a seamless and stable guest experience across all aspects of Soho House locations through the proactive support and management of all technical systems.

Main Duties

  • Deliver the highest quality of AV/IT technical support to all Soho House guests and internal operational teams. This requires clear, concise communication skills and an ability to deal with people of varying seniority and technical ability. A flexible approach to working is essential and may include weekend and evening work.
  • Timely support, troubleshooting and escalation of AV/IT issues to full resolution covering areas such as (but not limited to):
    • TV, sound and AV lighting systems
    • Security systems – access Control, CCTV and electronic locks
    • Collaborative meeting room equipment – e.g. Crestron, Mersive, Kramer and Samsung
    • IT hardware – PCs, laptops, terminals and tablets
    • Business applications; cloud, hosted and on-site
    • Network connectivity, incl. Wi-Fi
    • Telephony - VOIP and mobile
    • Printers
    • Cinema equipment
    • Payment systems
  • Setup and support of ad hoc events – including use pf podcast, DJ and presentation equipment
  • Checking all IT/AV equipment is well maintained and performing preventative maintenance where necessary
  • Managing systems access; creating, auditing, changing and deleting accounts as required in a wide variety of applications
  • Proactive support through routine checks. audits and site visits
  • Evaluating and flagging software, hardware, processes and configurations if they are not compliant with best practice, legal requirements (e.g.: PCI-DSS, GDPR), company standards or H&S
  • Knowledge and support of company applications; assisting the operation with setting up, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Assist with new installations and openings of Soho Works as required, including research and development of new technologies
  • Provide Hypercare support for Soho House and assist training operational staff.
  • Provide up-to-date documentation for existing and new technologies
  • Working with third parties and suppliers to manage cases, ultimately being the technical liaison
  • Close liaison with all IT and Operation teams, including 1st line Service Desk and 3rd line specialists to coordinate fast resolution of issues or project delivery.
  • Undertake project work of a varied nature and complexity.

Required Skills/Qualifications

  • Excellent technical skills covering a wide variety of IT and AV areas with a minimum of 4 years practical experience, preferably within the hospitality industry
  • Excellent, logical troubleshooting skills
  • Formal technical IT/AV qualification (HND/HNC/BTEC or degree)
  • Excellent, client-facing communication and customer service skills
  • Self-starter and pro-active - completes own work under minimal supervision/guidance
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit to promote additional Soho House solutions
  • Ability to prioritize and manage own workload in difficult and pressured situations
  • Structured work habits and good personal time management
  • The ability to produce work with attention to detail and to a consistently high standard
  • Flexible work approach with the ability to travel often and at short notice

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects with hands.
  • Must be able to work on your feet for at least 8 hours.
  • Fast paced movements are required to go from one part of the club to others.
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry, or lift at least 40 pounds.
  • Occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb as required.

In accordance with New York law, the salary range for this role if filled within New York is listed below. The range for the position in other geographies may vary based on market differences. The actual compensation will be determined based on experience and other factors permitted by law.
