Job Purpose:

The Membership Communications & Content Manager is responsible for shaping and driving the communications strategy for Soho House Tokyo, increasing brand awareness in Japan, strengthening our presence across all touchpoints, and ensuring consistent alignment with global brand standards.

This role partners closely with the Global Communications Team, Regional Membership Director, Head of Membership, and external agencies to deliver compelling, culturally relevant content that enhances member acquisition, engagement, and retention.

The manager oversees all membership communications, digital (SH.APP), social media, and in-House channels to ensure Soho House Tokyo’s community is informed, inspired, and connected.

Main Duties...

Cross-Channel Communications & Membership Support

  • Develop and maintain a robust cross-channel communications plan that supports membership goals, program engagement, and operational needs for Soho House Tokyo—including newsletters, SH.APP, website, and all member-facing touchpoints.
  • Work closely with the Global Communications team, Head of Membership, General Manager, and Regional Director to ensure all communications are aligned, timely, and reflective of the Tokyo member experience.
  • Devise and execute communication strategies that drive awareness, attendance, and revenue across member events, F&B offerings, private hire, cultural programming, and wellness classes.
  • Support event and content production by coordinating logistics, creative assets, and on-site execution to ensure all deliverables align with Soho House Tokyo’s brand standards and member experience.

Brand Management and Localization 

  • Oversee production and quality assurance of printed collateral, in-House messaging, wayfinding, programming boards, and event signage to ensure a cohesive member experience.
  • Ensure all physical touchpoints at the House reflect the Soho House brand and tone.
  • Produce bilingual (English/Japanese) communications and refine brand language
  • Translate and localize global messaging, campaigns, and brand materials for the Japanese market, ensuring cultural relevance and accuracy while maintaining Soho House’s brand and tone

Public Relations

  • Lead all press related activities, including press interviews, press tours and trips, media visits, and maintaining strong relationships with key local and global media and editors.
  • Manage external agency; oversee briefs, deliverables, proofreading, and ongoing alignment to ensure quality and consistency.
  • Build and execute PR strategies with the communications team (and/or agency) to drive awareness and secure positive, high-impact press coverage for Soho House.
  • Compile, manage, and distribute press clippings and media coverage reports, providing insights for internal stakeholders.
  • Analyse and monitor social media performance—tracking share of voice, engagement, growth, trends, and competitive activity—and deliver regular insights and recommendations to ensure Soho House Tokyo’s social presence is continuously optimized.
  • Support crisis communication efforts in coordination with the General Manager and Head of Membership.
